Growing up in a fundamentalist home, Taylor’s early life unfolded in largely traditional and conservative ways. After earning a Master’s degree in business, he worked mainly in four industries: real estate, high-tech, banking, and retired from solar energy.
In his late 30’s, a powerful inner experience shattered his old limited worldview, radically expanded his consciousness and reality, and opened him to a new world of boundless possibility and promise.
This transforming experience put Taylor on a parallel path—his soul’s real passion. Along with his traditional career, for the past 25 years, Taylor has been actively exploring the human condition, this life’s unfolding journey, and the mystery of our higher and deeper potentials—individually and collectively.
Now, with the book Waking UP, and the workshop Waking Up Journey, he works with people in making the most of their own unique journeys. In the workshop, he supports people in their inner journey–the process of personal inquiry, consciously evolving, and waking up; and in their outer journey–relating powerfully with the great challenges of our time, and finding ways to get into action.
As a climate activist and organizer, he also works for solutions to our world’s greatest challenge–the climate crisis. This work focuses on efforts to build the climate movement, reduce emissions, and ignite a Clean Energy Revolution.
Taylor Hawke is an author, climate activist, teacher, and occasional poet. He serves on the Board of Directors of 350 Bay Area, and supports TheSolutionsProject.org. He is a father and grandfather, living in Northern California.
